#Budget2023: M'sians To Get RM100 Vouchers & Discounts For Travel & Accommodation Expenses

The discounts and issuance of the vouchers are meant to help boost domestic tourism.

The government will be allocating RM25 million in the form of vouchers and discounts to boost domestic tourism, said Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz

Zafrul made the announcement during the tabling of the Supply Bill 2023 at the Dewan Rakyat today, 7 October.

Malaysians will be able to receive RM100 vouchers and discounts on accommodation and travel packages.

The minister said the discounts and vouchers can also be used on handicrafts and artworks.

To support the local handicraft industry, hotels that purchase handicrafts of up to RM500,000 will also enjoy a special tax waiver, said Zafrul.

The government will also allocate RM200 million for tourism promotion and marketing. The allocation will be used to increase efforts in attracting high-value tourists and niche markets.
