#Budget2024: Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah Recipients To Receive RM100/Month For A Year
A total of 700,000 Malaysians will benefit.
700,000 individuals under the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) programme will receive RM100 a month for a period of 12 months to purchase basic necessities next year
During the tabling of the budget today, 13 October, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the cash aid, allocated under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, will be credited into the STR recipients' MyKad.
Meanwhile, the government has also increased the total allocation for the STR cash assistance programme for B40 Malaysians from RM8 billion to RM10 billion
The programme will benefit around nine million people, or 60% of the Malaysian adult population.
Depending on a recipient's household income, the maximum rate of the cash aid will be increased from RM3,100 to RM3,700.
"The minimum amount for the youth will also be increased from RM350 to RM500," said Anwar.
