A burger seller in Muar was reprimanded by a Sessions Court judge after asking for a lower bail amount over an alleged sexual assault charge
The 24-year-old accused, Mohamad Akhil Yusuf, was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in a parked car in Tangkak at 3am on 29 May.
According to police reports, Mohamad Akhil had known the victim for only one day before taking her out and stopping his vehicle near her home.

The incident was uncovered when the victim's mother found explicit messages on her daughter's phone, prompting a police report on 3 June and Mohamad Akhil's arrest on 7 August
According to Harian Metro, Mohamad Akhil appeared without legal representation and pleaded not guilty.
He also asked for a lighter bail, drawing a rebuke from judge Emelia Kaswati Mohamad Khalid.
"If it's something like this (rape), it isn't a misstep. You already knew it was a crime, so why do it? Now you've brought trouble upon your parents," said Emelia.
Deputy public prosecutor Amira Sapian led the prosecution, with the court setting bail at RM8,000
Mohamad Akhil must report to the nearest police station on the first Monday of every month and is barred from contacting the victim or her family, including through social media.
The case has been fixed for mention on 17 September for document submission and the appointment of a lawyer.
