Burglar Gets Stuck In Front Door While Owner Sleeps Through The Night In Indonesia
The steel door reportedly weighed around 10kg.
An Indonesian man found himself in a sticky situation when he got himself wedged at the steel front door of the home he was robbing on Thursday, 8 March
According to Tribun Gayo, the 30-year-old thief climbed over the front gate, and successfully robbed one house at 2am in North Sumatra.
Labuhan Ruku district police chief Ferry Kusnadi said that the suspect then attempted to loot a neighbouring house, where he propped open a heavy red steel door with a block of wood.
Once he secured the door, he went to retrieve the stolen belongings from the first house.
However, his luck ran dry when the block of wood slipped out from between the door and the wall, with the door closing on his abdomen as he was squeezing his way through.
He was pinned by the 10kg door for around five hours before the owner of the home, who slept through the whole ordeal, discovered him in the morning.
The owner immediately contacted the police, who released the burglar from the door and promptly arrested him
The homeowner also submitted closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the surveillance camera placed directly outside the front door.
In the footage, the burglar was seen crawling through the door, ultimately getting caught in it, before struggling for several hours.
The man even tried to use another block of wood to pry the door open as he wriggled in pain, but to no avail.
The suspect was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated before being taken into police custody
He was then reportedly filmed being handcuffed, as he hobbled into a jail cell.
