A delivery rider flew all the way to Singapore to fulfil a "cross-border food order" for a batch of curry puffs for his customer in China
The extraordinary delivery run was captured on 31 August by Chloe, a woman from China living in the island republic.
According to South China Morning Post, she spotted the rider in a bright Meituan uniform at PLQ Mall. Meituan is a major food delivery platform in China, making the rider's presence outside a local snack shop all the more unusual.
Chloe stepped in to help when she noticed the man struggling to communicate with the staff at Hong Lim Curry Puff due to the language barrier.
He revealed that a Chinese business owner missed Singapore's crispy snacks so much that he paid 2,400 yuan (RM1,446) for the rider's flight
The delicious payload itself only cost SGD13.50 (RM43).
While the rider kept quiet about any potential tips, the Internet was quick to debate the stunt's authenticity.
One user commented, "Spending big on a food craving sounds crazy, but it's totally worth it. I would do the same once I become rich."
Chloe maintained the encounter was purely coincidental, dismissing claims that it was a staged marketing gimmick.
