A zoo in central China is taking the concept of 'fake it till you make it' to a whole new, furry level
Luohe Wildlife Zoo recently caught the Internet's attention after posting a recruitment advertisement looking for humans to masquerade as black bears.
The role offers an annual salary of 100,000 yuan (RM61,000), requiring successful applicants to don a 'soft' costume, roam the grounds, and interact with visitors.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and physically fit to handle the six-hour shifts, with four days off allotted each month
According to Jiupai News, employees are strictly forbidden from speaking while on duty, though they can purr and be willing to accept any refreshments offered by tourists.
"It's the freest position in our zone. If you're tired, you can just lie down and daydream," the advertisement stated.
"If you're feeling energetic, you can jump, dance, climb trees, or even catch fish. Do whatever feels comfortable," it added.
The quirky role is geared towards both extroverts and introverts, with the ad noting: "You can act in the most nonsensical ways. The more bizarre, the more popular you'll be."
Unsurprisingly, the unique vacancies were completely filled within a few days after drawing more than 100 eager applicants.
A zoo spokesperson mentioned that anyone who manages to gain social media fame during their shifts could even surpass the base salary.
