According to a police source, the incident occurred while the two workers were fabricating a steel cage at the site when a cable snapped, causing the steel bars they were working on to collapse.
thestar.com.myMRT Corp has released a press statement saying rescue work has started. However, they were not able to detail the condition of the victims.
“According to early reports, two workers involved and rescue work has started,” the press released by MRT Corp said.
Rescue work has begun but the developer was unable to elaborate on the condition of the workers.
“We don’t have that information currently, we have more details later,” an MRTCorp official, who did not want to be named, told Malay Mail Online when contacted.

The work at the Semantan site is contracted to Sunway Construction.
