Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has taken action against one of its staff members after a video allegedly showing him throwing rubbish from an official department vehicle surfaced on 21 June
In a statement today, 24 June, DBKL said it viewed the matter seriously and immediately summoned the staff member involved for an explanation while conducting an internal review.
The incident came to light after a dashcam video was shared on Threads, showing an officer lowering the vehicle window and throwing an object out before driving away.

Following its review, DBKL said the staff member was issued a compound under Section 47(1)(e) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974
DBKL also shared photos on Facebook showing the staff member receiving the compound notice.
"DBKL does not compromise on any actions that could tarnish the organisation's image and will continue to ensure compliance with regulations and strengthen work governance from time to time," the statement read.
The department added that it will continue to emphasise integrity, discipline, and professionalism among its staff in serving the city's residents.
