Dr Noor Hisham Has Been Awarded A 'Tan Sri' Title By The Agong

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has been accorded a 'Tan Sri' title by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah
According to Berita Harian, the title was accorded to Dr Noor Hisham during the Agong's official birthday celebration today, 17 August.
He was awarded the 'Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM)', which carries the title 'Tan Sri' - a federal title that can be only conferred by the Agong.
It is also worth mentioning that the award would make Dr Noor Hisham's wife, Nik Suwaida Haji Nik Mohammad Mohyideen, a 'Puan Sri' as well.
Since the beginning of the Movement Control Order (MCO), Dr Noor Hisham has been hailed by many Malaysians as a national hero
Many Malaysians love him because of his no-nonsense way of handling the COVID-19 outbreak in the nation.
It is believed that it is because of his contributions in the battle against the pandemic that he has been granted the second most senior federal title of the land.
After receiving the title, Dr Noor Hisham said the recognition is not just for himself to bear
Alhamdulillah. This is a recognition of all frontliners at the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).
"It is a symbol of the government's trust and appreciation to civil servants," Astro Awani quoted him as saying.
The Agong's celebration today witnessed a total of 31 individuals receiving federal awards at Istana Melawati, Putrajaya
Chief Justice Tan Sri Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) pro-chancellor Tan Sri Dr Arshad Ayub were among the main figures who were awarded the 'Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM)' ranks, which carry the title 'Tun'.
Based on the '2020 Federal Awards' list, 829 individuals are expected to be accorded with titles, reported Berita Harian.
