An e-hailing driver's encounter with a teen she rushed to the correct KLIA terminal just in time for his flight has gone viral online for its wholesome exchange
In a Threads post on Tuesday, 26 May, the driver, a mother of two named Ziera, said she was preparing to head home after dropping off a passenger at KLIA Terminal 2 when an anxious-looking teenage boy approached her for help.
"Kakak… Could you please take me to KLIA 1? I misread my ticket just now."
"My flight is at 8.50pm. I tried ordering [an e-hailing ride], but no one is accepting it," the boy pleaded.
Ziera checked the time and saw that it was already 8pm, but decided to help him get to the correct terminal.
"He seemed like he was just a teenager. It made me think of my own kid.
"My original plan was to head straight home since I had already hit my target for the day. But seeing his pitiful face… fine, (I decided to) just help him out quickly," she said.
Without wasting another second, Ziera told the boy, "Lai, lai, lai (Come, come, come)… Get in quick!"
She said she sped through several speed bumps, and by the time they finally arrived at Terminal 1, she told the boy to run.
"Boy! Get down quick… You have to run, okay? Don't dawdle!" she recalled, but the teen was still trying to ask about the fare.
"I told him, 'It's fine, just get down quickly!' But he kept hesitating. I insisted, 'It's fine, no need.'
"He then held out some cookies. 'Kakak, please take this. If you don't, I will feel so guilty…'," she recounted.
Seeing his earnest expression and how close he looked to tears, Ziera eventually accepted the cookies and later expressed hope that he managed to catch his flight.
