One-way fares for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will start from RM60 for journeys between Gombak and Kuantan, and RM125 for trips all the way to Kota Bharu
According to Malay Mail, Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) said the fares will be based on a dynamic pricing mechanism designed to keep the service affordable for the public.
Under this system, fares may vary depending on departure times, demand, and seat availability.

ECRL Transit services will stop at every station, while Express trains will serve four main stations
The four main stations are Gombak, Kota Sultan Ahmad Shah (KotaSAS) in Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, and Kota Bharu.
For the 523km Gombak–Kota Bharu journey, Transit fares will start from RM125 for a trip of approximately five hours, while Express fares will start from RM147 for a journey of about four hours.
For the Gombak–Kuala Terengganu route, fares will start from RM95 for Transit and RM110 for Express services.
Meanwhile, fares for journeys from Gombak to Kuantan will start from RM60 for Transit and RM68 for Express services.

MRL is targeting mid-December 2026 to begin commercial operations, with tickets expected to go on sale in mid-November
The railway operator also announced several concessionary fares:
– 50% discount: Children aged 2 to 12, Malaysian citizens aged 60 and above, persons with disabilities (OKU) cardholders, and government pensioners.
– 40% discount: Students aged 13 to 24.
The ECRL will operate 12 daily trips from Monday to Thursday, and increased to 16 from Friday to Sunday.
Passengers will be able to choose from Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class seats.
MRL plans to offer approximately 2.2 million seats in 2027, targeting an initial ridership rate of 60%, which it hopes to eventually increase to 90%.
