Earlier this week, a 35-year-old man was scalded with hot water by his own father following a quarrel over insurance money

According to the victim, the incident happened on Tuesday, 7 May, at 6.30pm when he had gone to his father’s house at Jalan Kaki Bukit, Gelugor, to ask for RM30,000.

However, the 66-year-old father refused, giving the victim RM10. The father then splashed hot water on him when he went close to the gate.

Following the incident, the victim lodged a police report

NST Online reported that in the police report, the son said his mother had bought insurance protection and savings. His mother passed away in 2005.

According to the report, once the insurance policy matured, the father claimed the policy and distributed the money to all his children except for the victim.

The victim had since been asking for his share of money from his father.
