The Ferrari driver who was assaulted by a Perodua Aruz driver has explained what allegedly happened in the lead-up to the road rage incident on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) on Saturday, 8 August
According to the New Straits Times, businessman Tiang How Soon, 40, said the incident occurred when he was travelling in a convoy heading to Melaka with his wife and son.
After falling behind the convoy following a stop at a petrol station, Tiang said he was driving his Ferrari at about 120kph when he switched from the right lane to the left to avoid a vehicle that had stopped suddenly in front of him.
"I tried to brake, but I was worried I would not stop in time and hit the car in front. I changed lanes to avoid a more serious accident.
"I saw the Aruz in my side mirror, about two or three car lengths away. I stopped in the middle lane and when the car arrived, there was no collision, but the driver became angry and shouted towards the passenger side of my car," he claimed.
Tiang said he tried to explain why he had swerved, but the Aruz driver continued shouting at him.
"I asked him not to do so as I had a young child who was already frightened.
"I got out of the car and several people tried to help, but he suddenly assaulted me. He kicked and punched me in the face," he said.

Tiang said the video had left a negative impression of him and the motoring community, prompting him to explain what he claimed happened before the confrontation.
With five years of motorsports experience, Tiang said people involved in racing value road safety and do not treat public roads as racetracks, reported China Press.
It is understood that Tiang and the Aruz driver have since reached an amicable settlement.
However, Nilai district police chief Supt Johari Yahya said police will continue investigating the case, reported NST.
Both men have been released on police bail.
