A Malaysian internet personality who previously gained online fame promoting casino activities has turned to gig work as a ride-hailing driver, following a financial collapse that left him roughly RM1 million in debt
Aaron Lim, 48, disclosed in an Instagram reel that he has spent the past eight months working as an e-hailing driver in an effort to earn enough to cover basic daily expenses.
Despite working shifts that stretch up to 12 hours a day, Lim revealed that his daily earnings cap out at RM200. He described the physical toll of driving long hours as detrimental to his health, adding that the income leaves zero margin for savings and barely covers survival needs.

According to a report by Shin Min Daily News, his gambling activities and financial missteps eventually wiped out his personal fortune and saddled him with crippling debt. The sudden financial ruin prompted Lim to retreat entirely from public view, maintaining complete digital silence for over a year before resurfacing to detail his ordeal.
Reflecting on his past lifestyle, Lim highlighted the sharp contrast between his previous habits and current reality. During his peak earnings period — when he drew a monthly income of around RM100,000 — he regularly frequented luxury dining establishments without checking menu prices. Today, he adopts strict frugality, often waiting past 8.30pm at local eateries to purchase discounted surplus meals.
