The High Court today found guilty all the four accused in the murder of cosmetics millionairess Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others three years ago, and sentenced them to death by hanging.

“The prosecution has proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Justice Akhtar Tahir was quoted as telling a packed courtroom in Petaling Jaya by The Star Online news portal.

Today's verdict brings to a close the 114-day long High Court trial which saw 138 witnesses take the stand and 742 exhibits tendered.

Justice Datuk Akhtar Tahir, who read out his judgment today ruled that the prosecution had proved its case against the accused.
