Ghost Banquet At Thai Cemetery Creeps Out Locals After Shadowy Figures Appear In Photos
Goosebumps.
A ghost banquet held at a cemetery near Rayong, Thailand on 20 July, has gone viral after 'shadowy figures' spooked local attendees
Siam Rayong Rescue workers organised the banquet at the Chag Phak Kud Temple cemetery, located in Nikom Phatthana, Rayong Province.
The cemetery is the final resting place for both 'claimed and unclaimed souls', including deceased infants. The banquet was part of the Asalha Puja Day celebration, intended to honour the unclaimed spirits residing in the cemetery.
According to Sanook, the feast included both savoury and sweet dishes, including steamed sea bass with lime, green curry with noodles, seafood tom yum, and mixed Thai sweets, as well as fruits such as longan, rambutan, and watermelon.
Despite having no one physically present, many locals reportedly captured pictures of shadowy figures resembling people sitting at the tables
A movie screening of the film, Journey to the West, was also arranged for the spirits to enjoy at night
Meanwhile, images from a separate movie screening at a Chinese cemetery in Nakhon Ratchasima province went viral on Chinese social media. The screening, which took place between 2 to 6 June from 7pm until midnight, featured a single projector set up and rows of unoccupied chairs arranged for the spirits.
According to Must Share News, Chinese Thais believe that conducting such ceremonies, including movie screenings for the dead, can comfort restless souls and help them feel remembered and honoured.
