Hackers To Najib: "We Are Not Stupid. If You Think You Can Hide The Truth, You Are Wrong."
On 4 May, hackers defaced Ahmad Maslan's website with a letter titled “Perjalanan Dunia Menuju Abadi" addressing Prime Minister Najib. It contained complaints on the government's recent actions.
The personal website of Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan was defaced on 4 May, with the unidentified attackers inserting a page-long exposition titled “Perjalanan Dunia Menuju Abadi (The worldly road to eternity)” complaining of the government’s policies and actions.themalaymailonline.com
Although the website belongs to Ahmad, the hackers seem to have used the opportunity to leave a message directed to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Lashing out on current issues such as the Goods and Service Tax (GST), 1Malaysia Development Fund (1MDB), the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans, the Prevention of Terrorism Bill (Pota), and wedding celebrations of the PM's daughter.
“We are only ordinary citizens. Yet, we think that you need to hear our complaints. We no longer have confidence in your leadership,” says the letter.
On feeling the pinch: "The majority of Malaysian youths are only earning less than RM2,000. They are finding it more difficult to afford the increasing cost of living, houses, and PTPTN loans."
The letter points out that the majority of the young earn less than RM2,000 per month and were feeling the pinch of the increase in the cost of living, especially those living in urban areas. It claims that they are already unable to afford homes and pay for their PTPTN loans.freemalaysiatoday.com
On GST: “In the midst of the stark increase in prices, where do you get the audacity to organise such a lavish wedding, even as we struggle to bear the cost of living?"
On caring for the people: "You seem to not care about our hardship but instead pepper us with disgusting slogans of your administration pretending to hear our hearts’ pleas."
On 1MDB: “Yet, until today, you have failed to respond to the allegations made against you. Silence is not going to convince us that you are not involved."
The letter adds that “leakages” shown by the scandal surrounding 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) involving billions of ringgit has caused the nation much suffering. “Yet, until today, you have failed to respond to the allegations made against you,” adding that this has caused young Malaysians to lose faith in their Prime Minister.
Claiming that the Prime Minister has failed to respond to allegations made by Mahathir Mohamad that Najib himself was involved in the 1MDB scandal, it points out that mere silence was “not going to convince us that you are not involved”.
On corruption: “Malaysians are entitled to know how their money is spent. They work hard for and settle their dues to the nation by paying taxes. Corruption and leakages cannot be compromised."

On the Prevention of Terrorism Act and Sedition Act: "We are not stupid. If you think that you can hide the truth, you are plainly wrong. You cannot stifle our freedom by means of despotic legislation."
The letter says that the people are not “stupid” and that with the advent of social media, the populace can easily form and advance its own opinion.

On Najib's leadership: “We need leaders who are brave in telling the truth. You only want to be seen as brave, but you are a coward,” states the letter followed by a call for his resignation.

The letter is signed off in the style of the internationally renowned hackers’ grouping known as “Anonymous”
