“I Cannot Afford To Keep This Queen” — Man Explains Why He Ended Affair With Married Woman

A 52-year-old man recently shared why he decided to end an affair with a married woman, saying the relationship became difficult for him over time

In a confession post published on the Hi Beauty Club Facebook page on 8 July, the man said the woman was eight years older than him, and he entered the relationship seeking companionship unbothered by the fact that she was married.

He also claimed that, because she was older, he had relatively few expectations of the relationship.

"Little did I know, this relationship would be more exhausting than being single," he said.

The man, who runs a shop with several employees, said he offered the woman a job at his business after he believed she might have difficulty finding employment elsewhere.

He paid her RM2,000 a month, along with EPF contributions.

At first, he said he did not mind that she was unfamiliar with the work, as he expected her to gradually learn and contribute.

However, after more than a year, he concluded that her work performance was not the main issue

He claimed that, beyond her difficulties handling tasks independently, he was more concerned about her interactions with his employees, whom he described as long-time staff members who were good at their jobs.

He claimed she often tried to push them away, became jealous when he bought food for the staff, and used their relationship to assert authority in the workplace.

"If I bought takeout for my staff, she would get jealous and upset.

"If she drove all of them away, how would the business survive?" he asked.

He also claimed that she would ask others to help with tasks she could handle herself, complain about small matters, and laugh when employees were scolded by customers.

According to him, this affected staff morale and made running the business harder.

Outside of work, he said he continued to pay for her meals and daily necessities despite the two of them not living together

He claimed that he would also spend his days off with her, saying she would become upset if he did not take her out.

The man said he tried discussing the issues with her, but any changes were only temporary.

Eventually, he also encouraged her to find another job, saying that his shop might not be the right place for her, but said she refused to leave.

"Because working outside means having to take crap from others; working for me, I was the one taking crap from her," he wrote.

The man said he eventually felt that the relationship left him with no personal space

Although they saw each other almost every day, he said he felt that their nightly check-ins had become a form of monitoring rather than care.

"Maybe she felt that for a single guy like me to fancy her was a massive blessing for me… Like I had hit the absolute jackpot… Like I should worship her like an ancestor.

"She probably thought that since she was 60 and had a husband, yet I was still willing to be with her, she was entitled to look down on me and my family," he wrote.

The man claimed he eventually laid out all his grievances and broke up with her.

Reflecting on the experience, he said being single could sometimes be better than staying in an unhealthy relationship.

"You can always make more money if you lose it, but picking the wrong partner is sheer torture.

"I cannot afford to keep this queen," he ended the confession post.

The post has since sparked discussion online, with some users questioning why he decided to pursue the relationship despite knowing the circumstances.
