If You Receive A Call From MCMC Between 12 Nov To 12 Dec, It Is Not A Scam
Handphone users will be randomly selected.
Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced yesterday, 16 November, that it will be conducting the 'Handphone Users Survey 2018' initiative
According to a notice posted on MCMC's Facebook and Twitter, the survey will be conducted from 12 November til 12 December to collect data on hand phone users in Malaysia.
The data collection exercise will only be conducted from 9am to 6pm daily, except for national and Selangor-based public holidays.
Not all handphone users will have to answer the survey, as respondents are randomly selected by a computer
Calls to registered mobile numbers will be made from MCMC's computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) centre in Cyberjaya.
"Participation is voluntary: however, cooperation from members of the public is greatly appreciated. All information collected will be used only for the purpose of deriving statistics at the national level," the statement read.
MCMC also warned that no money will be collected nor will any sales be solicited
"No personal information of mobile cellular subscribers was received from the service providers," MCMC said in the statement.
In a separate post on its Facebook page, MCMC said, "The 'Handphone User Survey' is an annual survey conducted by MCMC. Respondents for this survey will only be contacted from these two numbers: 03-86888235 and 03-86888234."
