The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has identified a total of 29 individuals who participated in the #Lawan protest yesterday, 31 July

In a statement earlier today, 1 August, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said that officers are in the process of identifying more individuals from the protest.

"A few others are in the process of being identified from video recordings and pictures," he said, adding that more than 20 police reports have been lodged following the protest.

All those identified will be called in for questioning

They will be questioned under Act 342, or the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, over possible COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) breaches.

He noted that PDRM had issued several warnings against holding the rally.

According to Acryl, these "stubborn" protesters could give rise to COVID-19 infections.
