The police have identified jealousy and heartbreak as the motive behind the murder of Mila Sharmila Samsusah, a 32-year-old single mother, whose remains were found in an abandoned house

The victim, affectionately known as Bella, was reported missing by her family in December last year.

According to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, the motives were established following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the police, reported Berita Harian.

"The motive for Bella's murder is due to jealousy and heartbreak (sakit hati)," he said during a media briefing at the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters in Johor Bahru today, 24 January.

"A murder case must have a motive. From this motive, we will start and get an overview of our investigation. So, this is the motive that we learned through the investigation," he added.

Razarudin stated that Bella was struck on her head with a blunt object

When asked to respond to rumours that Bella was pregnant at the time of her murder, the IGP said that the police are still waiting for a thorough autopsy report to confirm this.

"Since we only found the remains, this [rumour] cannot be confirmed [yet]. Whether the victim was pregnant or not is determined through a post-mortem. The comprehensive autopsy report will ascertain it," he added.
