The late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali told her son that she was already prepared to leave before she died on Monday morning, 28 September
According to Bernama, her son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, said his mother made the remark when he visited her at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday night, 27 September.
Mukhriz said his mother was in good spirits during his visit and had been receiving treatment for another illness since Saturday, 26 September.
"I was with her last night (Sunday night). She was in very good spirits, but she told me that she was already prepared to leave us all," he told reporters after attending her funeral at Pusara Negara yesterday.
Mukhriz said his mother's condition became critical after she suffered a heart attack at about 8am yesterday
He said the hospital informed him that his mother had suffered a heart attack, prompting him to rush to IJN.
"The specialists tried to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before she was transferred to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU)," he said.
However, Mukhriz said the hospital had informed the family that CPR would be stopped if her heart did not respond after 15 minutes.
"At that point, we understood what the doctors meant. At exactly 9.30am, she left us all," he said.
Dr Siti Hasmah was laid to rest at Pusara Negara in Putrajaya on Monday, 28 September.

"Tun Dr Mahathir is not ill. He was only accompanying her throughout her stay in the hospital.
"Of course, he is deeply saddened by the loss of his life partner of more than 70 years," he said.
Meanwhile, Mukhriz, on behalf of the family, expressed his deepest appreciation and gratitude to Malaysians and people around the world for their sincere thoughts and condolences.
