An Indian social media influencer was forced to abandon his residence after asking followers for a simple festive gift, only to be targeted in an overwhelming harassment campaign involving cash-on-delivery orders
Veeramani, a content creator based in Madurai, shared his home address and telephone number online ahead of Diwali, hoping well-wishers would send him a box of sweets to celebrate the occasion.
Instead, online pranksters used his personal information to place dozens of fraudulent e-commerce orders in his name.
Delivery couriers from major online platforms, including Amazon and Flipkart, quickly began arriving at his home with high-value merchandise, ranging from refrigerators and washing machines to smartphones and televisions
One television carried a price tag of 169,000 Indian rupees (RM7,266), with couriers demanding immediate cash payment upon arrival.
The harassment intensified when unwanted food orders began arriving at his doorstep throughout the day.
Some online users even shared fake order confirmations claiming they had arranged for heavy industrial machinery and military hardware worth millions of dollars to be delivered to his address.

Struggling to manage the influx of delivery drivers and unable to pay for the unwanted goods, Veeramani released an emotional video on Instagram begging those responsible to stop
"I am suffering a lot after requesting a sweet box. I bow at your feet… Please stop ordering. I am under severe pressure," he pleaded in the video clip, which quickly gained millions of views across social media platforms.
Despite his public appeal, the unwanted deliveries persisted, forcing Veeramani to lock up his house and flee his neighbourhood. Residents confirmed that he left the premises after facing non-stop disruptions from delivery personnel.
In a subsequent video update, Veeramani said he was travelling and that his location was no longer traceable. Calls to his public phone number have since been blocked, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
