A 23-year-old content creator has had his social media account banned and been detained by authorities after leaping from the top of a residential building in China

The man, surnamed Ren, allegedly leapt from the top of a high-rise residential building in Sichuan province at 11pm on 30 June 2026, according to the Qilu Evening News.

According to local police, his primary motivation was to attract more traffic to his social media page.

Ren, who operated under the online moniker 'Parachute Coach Kakaxi', shared footage of the extreme night jump the next day on his social media platform

The video shows him drifting perilously close to nearby apartment blocks, windows, and trees.

Local authorities said the stunt seriously disrupted public order, endangered public safety, and violated local safety guidelines.

Ren was handed a 15-day administrative detention, while his account, which had 60,000 followers, was promptly banned.

Investigators also found that Ren did not possess a valid coaching licence

The police reminded the public that parachuting near residential towers, downtown buildings, and crowded areas is strictly prohibited without official approval.

The Internet was swift to condemn the creator's actions.

An angry netizen commented, "It is too dangerous! It is possible that he will hit someone on the road. He puts not only his own life but also other people's lives at risk. He should receive a serious penalty."
