Ipoh Businessman Loses Porsche, Mercedes & 3 Other Cars In Flood

Five cars owned by businessman Datuk Amaluddin Mohamed Ismail were damaged when his property in Arena Kepayang Putra, Ipoh was submerged by over a metre of floodwater on Sunday, 1 December
According to Bernama, Amaluddin, 63, reported that his Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, and Toyota Alphard could not be saved as the floodwaters rose rapidly.
Amaluddin and his family were initially unconcerned, as the floods had never risen above knee level during their 28 years of living there.
"This time, we couldn't do anything as the water rose very quickly. At 10.30am, when I checked outside, the water was only ankle-deep, but within an hour, it surged past one metre.
"There was no time to salvage the cars," he informed Bernama.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said an investigation into the flood's cause will be conducted, and measures will be taken to prevent future occurrences.
Reports indicate that the flood was the worst in 30 years.
Amaludin also said he suffered additional losses from damaged household appliances and furniture
He urged the authorities, especially the Ipoh City Council (MBI), to collaborate and ensure such incidents do not recur.
Meanwhile, residents in nearby areas were also severely affected by the floods.
"It will take three to four days to remove the mud, which damaged our property and household items," said one neighbour.
He urged the relevant agencies to help flood victims by assisting with relocation efforts and clearing muddy roads.
