Japan Invites M'sians Looking To Pursue Their Master's To Apply For This 2025 Scholarship

The Japanese government is inviting Malaysians to apply for its MEXT Young Leaders' Programme (YLP) Scholarship for a chance to study at a university in Japan next year
Malaysians interested in pursuing a Master's degree in Japan are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
Under the scholarship, grantees will be exempted from all tuition and examination fees, receive a monthly allowance of 242,000 yen (approximately RM7,320), and be provided with a round-trip flight ticket to Japan.
Applications are open now until 6 September 2024.
The five Master's courses being offered under the Young Leaders' Programme are:
- Business Administration Course (Master of Business Administration) at Hitotsubashi University
- Law Course (Master of Law) at Kyushu University
- School of Government Course (Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy) at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)
- School of Local Governance Course (Master in Public Administration or Master in Public Policy) at National Graduate Institute for Foreign Policy (GRIPS)
- Healthcare Administration Course (Master of Healthcare Administration) at Nagoya University
The courses are primarily one year long, starting in October 2025, except for the Business Administration Course, which will commence in September 2025.
All courses will be conducted in English.

Malaysian citizens must be degree holders under the age of 40 and possess a good command of English to apply
For the Business Administration Course, applicants must have a minimum TOEFL-iBT score of 100/IELTS 7.0 or equivalent, a highly desirable GMAT/GRE score, and have at least two years of working experience.
For all other courses, applicants must have a minimum TOEFL-iBT score of 80/ IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, and at least three years of working experience in government offices. Non-government applicants pursuing the Law Course must have four years of working experience.
Applications should be submitted through the relevant Malaysian authorities, including the National Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Malaysia, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and the Public Service Department of Malaysia.
