JIPS Director Says They Are Investigating Incidents Of Alleged Harassment By PDRM Officers
He assured that appropriate action will be taken against those involved.

Today, 13 February, Bukit Aman Department of Integrity and Compliance Standards (JIPS) director Datuk Zamri Yahya addressed two allegations of harassment by police officers at different roadblocks
According to a report in Berita Harian, the two incidents of alleged wrongdoings by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel in Penang and Kuala Lumpur are being investigated by the integrity department.
In the incident that happened in Penang, a woman alleged she was stopped by an officer at a roadblock, following which he took down her details including her phone number.
He subsequently contacted her, wanting to get to know her.
The other incident involved another woman who alleged an officer sexually harassed her for not wearing a bra when she was stopped at a roadblock at Jalan Duta.
Both women shared their experiences and allegations on Twitter.
The Malay newspaper reported Zamri as saying that Kuala Lumpur and Penang police departments are currently investigating both incidents while being monitored by JIPS.
According to Zamri, the investigation will identify the police personnel involved based on the statements that have been obtained
"At the same time, Bukit Aman has contacted the two women to get more information about the members who allegedly harassed them to assist in the JIPS investigation," he was quoted as saying.
JIPS will take appropriate disciplinary action against those involved
"The offences as described by the complainants are serious misconduct that could tarnish the image of the police force," Zamri said, adding, "I would also like to remind that officers and policemen who are on duty need to be professional and don't do or say anything that is beyond the official job scope."
