The Johor Road Transport Department (JPJ) has sent a clear message that high-performance cars do not come with high-level immunity
In a targeted enforcement operation known as Ops Luxury, Johor JPJ seized 44 luxury vehicles between the start of the year and 18 May, as reported by the New Straits Times.
Johor JPJ Director Zulkarnain Yasin said that the operation was the result of intelligence gathering, consistent monitoring, and — most importantly — public complaints regarding the road conduct and legal compliance of luxury vehicle owners.
Owners and drivers found in violation were issued notices to facilitate further legal action.

The seizures were carried out under the Road Transport Act 1987
The crackdown focused on both documentation and the physical safety of the vehicles.
The primary offences detected included expired road tax, lack of insurance coverage, driving without a valid licence, and technical violations such as illegal modifications or mechanical failures.
Every seized vehicle underwent a thorough technical inspection to ensure it was fit for Malaysian roads and did not present unnecessary risks to the public.

Zulkarnain emphasised that the department would not offer special treatment based on the brand or price of a vehicle
Ops Luxury is specifically designed to raise public awareness that road laws apply to everyone.
"JPJ Johor will not compromise, and enforcement actions will be implemented fairly and strictly, regardless of the brand or value of a vehicle," he said.
The department said it will continue these periodic operations to strengthen legal compliance and ensure that safety remains the top priority on Johor roads.
