One of the men involved in the assault at a bak kut teh restaurant in Kepong on 7 May has been accused of being involved in a stabbing and assault case seven years ago
In a Facebook post last Friday, 15 May, the victim, surnamed Tan, said he and his brother were beaten by a group of men while drinking at a bar in Kepong in July 2019.
Tan said after watching a video of the recent assault, he realised that one of the attackers, Wong Weng Luen, was the same suspect who had assaulted him and his brother years earlier.
"The man in the blue shirt and an accomplice who beat my third brother so severely that he lost a massive amount of blood and was rushed to the ICU.
"He fell into a coma and had to be resuscitated. He almost died. My third brother and I didn't even know the two of them. He merely walked past them, and they wanted to take his life," he wrote.
Tan claimed that another attacker smashed a beer bottle on his brother's head, before using it to stab him in the abdomen
"This resulted in my third brother's head suffering a head injury that required over 70 stitches.
"When I saw [two other attackers] grabbing another glass bottle to hit my third brother's head again, I used my hand to shield him.
"As a result, my hand was severely injured. My tendons were severed, and I needed more than 10 stitches," he recounted.
Tan added that the incident traumatised his father.
"In all my life, I had never seen my father shed a tear!"
He also claimed that none of the suspects had been arrested after seven years, alleging that they had triad backgrounds.

The accusation caught the attention of Kepong member of parliament Lim Lip Eng.
In a post yesterday, 18 May, Lim said he had met the siblings over the weekend and revealed that they had lodged a new police report regarding the 2019 incident.
He also said the siblings had spent more than RM100,000 on medical treatment.
Lim added that he would speak to the Selangor police to request a suspect identification procedure and seek an explanation as to why no arrests had been made.
