A 1-minute 50-second CCTV video has surfaced online, capturing what appears to be an armed robbery at a convenience store in Taman Wahyu, Kepong
Recorded by a ceiling-mounted camera at around 5.47am today, 28 July, the footage shows a man threatening the on-duty cashier with what appears to be a pistol.
Kepong member of parliament Lim Lip Eng posted the clip on social media today.
In the video, the suspect is seen aggressively forcing the store worker to open the cash register
The situation quickly escalated when the employee was slow to comply, prompting the assailant to physically assault the worker.
The suspect then used his left hand to hastily scoop the money from the register, stuffed it into a bag, and fled the shop.
According to the New Straits Times, the publication has officially reached out to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further details and a statement on the investigation.
