Klang Valley Tops Sabah In Recording Most Daily Infections With 544 New COVID-19 Cases

Klang Valley has logged more cases in a single day than Sabah for the third time in the past week.

Klang Valley has overtaken Sabah in recording the most number of daily COVID-19 cases nationwide for the third time in the past week

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), areas within the Klang Valley saw a total of 544 new cases today, 16 November, while Sabah recorded 288 new cases.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in Malaysia is 1,103.

However, cases reported within Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya make up 49% of the total.

This is the third time within the past week that Klang Valley has logged more cases in a single day compared to Sabah. The first time was on Friday, 13 November, followed by Sunday, 15 November.

Between the different states and federal territories within the Klang Valley, Kuala Lumpur recorded the most number of new infections today

Kuala Lumpur saw 392 new cases today and out of the total, 379 were reported in Segambut.

The ministry also found that 385 cases detected today are linked to the Damanlela construction site cluster.

Meanwhile, Kepong has been pinpointed as the area with the most active cases within the two federal territories in the Klang Valley

There are currently 1,299 active cases in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Out of that total, 976 are in the Kepong district.
