A 49-year-old disabled woman was found dead with a fatal stab wound to her calf at her home in Kampung Cheh Hilir, Kuala Kangsar
According to Harian Metro, the victim, Nor Ainon Omar, suffered severe bleeding and was initially discovered unconscious in the house she shared with her husband and their three children.
Kampung Cheh Hilir Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) chairman Nur Halim Abdul Hamid arrived at the scene at around 2pm yesterday, 23 September after being alerted by concerned residents.
According to her 43-year-old husband, the woman was pierced by a sharp object through the wooden floorboards
"When I asked the victim's husband how it happened, he said he did not know, but his wife managed to tell him that her leg was poked with a sharp object from under the house," Nur Halim said.
The husband, who was home during the incident, frantically sought help from villagers before authorities were called in.
The victim's sister-in-law, Suliana Jalaluddin, only learned of the tragedy at 2.16pm when her brother shared a distressing picture of the scene in their family WhatsApp group.
The tight-knit family is well-known in the local community, as both parents and their three teenagers live with varying disabilities
Suliana shared that the couple's eldest child, 17, has a physical disability, while the other two teenagers have learning disabilities.
Local villagers subsequently helped locate the couple's 15-year-old son, gently persuading the teenager to return home to assist the police with their investigation.
Kuala Kangsar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun said the police would provide further updates on the case as the investigation unfolds.
