Muhamad Zakhir Muhamad Zaidi, a content creator from Bachok, recently went viral online after netizens noticed his uncanny resemblance to the Barcelona winger.
His newfound attention came after he spontaneously entered an esports tournament held during a live screening of the 2026 World Cup final, filling in for a missing player and going on to clinch first place.
"When my name was called to collect the prize on stage, the crowd started shouting 'Yamal' together until I felt my heart racing," said Muhamad Zakhir
According to Harian Metro, the unexpected attention saw him surrounded by onlookers hoping to take selfies with him, as if he were an international celebrity. The moment later led to a guest appearance on radio station Molek FM.
Despite styling his hair like the Spanish star, Muhamad Zakhir admitted that he is actually a loyal fan of Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, his TikTok followers often tease him on his For You Page (FYP), jokingly asking if Barcelona had forgotten to pay his salary.
