Woman Shares How Strangers Left RM150 On Her Windscreen To Renew Her Expired Road Tax
"Hi, I'm sorry to disturb you. Don't be freaked out at the fact that there is money inside."
On 4 March, a woman took to social media to share about her experience as a recipient of a random act of kindness
In a Facebook post, Nur Aqeela explained that she was walking towards her car after work one day when she noticed "rubbish" on her windscreen.
After closer inspection, she realised that it was actually a pink folder with a piece of paper inside.
To Aqeela's surprise, the contents of the folder included a letter addressed to the owner of the car and three folded RM50 notes
"Hi, I'm sorry to disturb you. Don't be freaked out at the fact that there is money inside. I don't know who owns this car, but consider this a form of charity," the letter read.
"My friends and I gathered this money and wanted to do something charitable to a random person who needed it," the Good Samaritan wrote.
"I noticed that your road tax hasn't been renewed yet. Hopefully, this amount can help reduce the cost for you. It should cost between RM300 to RM500 for your renewal," the writer added.
According to the post, Aqeela's road tax expired on 19 January.
Touched by the generous gesture, Aqeela penned a response that she hopes will reach the kind strangers behind it
"My hands are shaking as I write this. I really wish I could know who you are. Please contact me," she wrote.
The woman explained that since she will be giving the car to her parents in Kelantan as it needs repair, she will be passing them the money to renew the road tax.
"May Allah bless your soul and reward you for your kindness," Aqeela added.
