Tengku Adnan Has Been Arrested Over Dubious DBKL Land Deals

The Putrajaya Member of Parliament (MP) is expected to be charged tomorrow, 15 November.

Former UMNO secretary-general and Putrajaya Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, better known as Ku Nan, has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today, 14 November

Free Malaysia Today reported that Ku Nan was arrested at 3.25pm at the MACC headquarters after further questioning. 

MACC deputy commissioner of operations Datuk Seri Azam Baki confirmed the arrest, according to Malaysiakini

Ther ex-Federal Territories Minister was detained in connection with dubious Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) land deals

97 transactions for 273.27 hectares of DBKL land were investigated by a special task force under MACC. 

The transactions are worth RM5.63 billion. 

Ku Nan had previously denied being involved in approving land deals between DBKL and private developers, and claimed that he had handed the land back to the government. 

The Putrajaya MP will reportedly face charges for bribery tomorrow

Free Malaysia Today quoted a source as saying Ku Nan could be slapped with charges for accepting bribes. 

However, it remains unclear how many charges he will face tomorrow.
