It Would've Been Like Any Other Day For This Homeless Man If Not For A Little Kindness

Every person deserves a second chance, and some love.

Earlier in October 2015, a group called 'Kindness Malaysia' came across a homeless man named Jamil on the streets of Chow Kit

Jamil has been living in Chow Kit for years after his wife and son abandoned him.

As you can imagine, Jamil — who has been sleeping on the streets for years now — doesn't quite have access to resources.

He has hearing problems and suffers from a speech and skin disorder. Many regard him as a mentally-challenged person.

After coming across him, volunteers from Kindness Malaysia took Jamil to buy some clothes and footwear. Then they treated him to lunch, had his hair cut, and bought him some medicines and toiletries.

Jamil, in turn, displayed remarkable appreciation

When offered to buy clothes, Jamil went for small outlets. And when given 5 pieces of clothing, Jamil refused them saying one would be enough. Not only that, he also selected a small eatery at the side of the road to eat.

All this despite being given the choice to pick any store he wanted.

The volunteers also took him sightseeing around KL

During the sightseeing trip, Kindness Malaysia also took Jamil on a car ride, making him experience the sheer excitement after 15 long years.

And when it came time for the volunteers to leave, Jamil tried to hide his sadness with a smile

They plan to get him a job so he can have a better life.

The lesson here is that every person deserves a second chance

At the time of writing, Jamil's story on Kindness Malaysia's Facebook page has been shared over 2,000 times and received more than 7,900 Likes.

This good deed by Kindness Malaysia shows how it doesn't take a lot to make up a homeless person's day. For it's the small gestures of kindness that puts a smile on their faces and makes them happy.
