Malaysia Records Another New High With 432 Daily COVID-19 Cases

Kedah and Sabah reported the highest number of new cases at 241 and 130, respectively.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has once again recorded a new high with 432 new COVID-19 cases in the country today, 5 October

Out of the new daily COVID-19 cases, 429 are local transmissions and three are imported cases.

Kedah reported the highest number of new positive cases at 241, and next was Sabah with 130 cases, then Selangor at 34.

Since Thursday, 1 October, Malaysia has recorded back-to-back three-digit spikes in daily new COVID-19 cases.

The count was 260 on Thursday, 287 on Friday, 317 on Saturday, and Sunday with 293.

This has brought the cumulative total to 12,813 cases

The huge spikes in daily new cases over the past couple of weeks has brought Malaysia's active count to an alarming number.

There are now 2,336 patients who are currently infected with the virus, with 32 being in Intensive Care Units (ICU) around the country, and eight needing ventilator assitance.

No new coronavirus-related deaths were reported within the last 24 hours.
