A Malaysian mum was moved to tears after her four daughters surprised her in their professional uniforms to celebrate her 50th birthday
The heartwarming moment was shared in a video by Facebook page The Chindian Diaries, where the daughters revealed that it was the first time their mother had seen all of them dressed in their work attire.
The four siblings have each built successful careers — one is a nurse in Singapore, another is a Singapore Airlines cabin crew member, the third is a secondary school teacher, and the youngest is a pilot.
Their mother, introduced in the video as Kavitha, works as a street sweeper for SWM Environment in Seremban.
"Through years of hard work, she gave her children the opportunity to build successful careers," the video reads.
Before the surprise, Kavitha was seen going about her daily routine of sweeping the streets, completely unaware that her daughters were standing behind her
During the interview, the 50-year-old shared that she has been working as a street sweeper for the past 12 years, earning RM1,800 a month.
When asked why she continues working despite all four of her daughters having successful careers, Kavitha smiled and said she simply enjoys being independent.
"It's good to be independent. Each child has their own life. There are people who still work into their 70s. I'm doing this work with a full heart, my dear," she said warmly.
The interviewer then asked how she felt knowing that all of her children were doing well in life.
"I'm so happy that I'm speechless now. Even though I'm working hard, I just want my children to be happy. That's all," she said.
Moments later, she was asked to turn around.
Upon seeing her daughters standing there in their uniforms, Kavitha immediately burst into tears of joy before giving each one of them a kiss and a hug.
