70-Year-Old Woman In Kelantan Dies After Losing Consciousness While Driving
Police say there is no foul play in the woman's death.
A 70-year-old woman died yesterday, December 20, after crashing her car near a petrol station in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Police suggest she may have lost consciousness while behind the wheel.
Kota Bharu district police chief ACP Mohd Rosdi Daud said prior to the crash, the victim's vehicle was moving slowly along Jalan Sultan Ibrahim but failed to stop at the intersection, Berita Harian reported.
"The victim is believed to have been unconscious at that time, leading to her vehicle crashing into a road divider," he said.
While investigations are ongoing, Mohd Rosdi ruled out foul play in the woman's death, stating that the case is currently classified as sudden death.
The woman's body was transported to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for a post-mortem
Mohd Rosdi also appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
