"They're Flood Victims Too" — Man Hits Wild Boar Trying To Climb Onto Boat During Flood
The wild boar makes a beeline for the boat, before getting hit on the head and swimming away.
The recent floods hitting Peninsular Malaysia haven't just affected humans, but the animals that co-exist alongside us.
While some are eager to lend a helping hand to those in need, furry or otherwise, some are not so.
A video recently went viral on Twitter showing two men hooting and hollering at a family of wild boars while traversing their flooded village by boat.
One boar can be seen ignoring the presence of the boat, while one of the them swims towards the men.
The men start hitting the surface of the water with their paddles in an attempt to discourage the boar from getting close, but the determined creature tries to climb onto the boat anyway. In a panic, one of the men hit the wild pig on the head with their oar, and it hurriedly swims away.
The video sparked debate online, with some decrying the men's insensitivity to the plight of a fellow flood victim
"So sad... They're flood victims too," one user said on Facebook.
However, other netizens defended the men's actions, saying that wild boars are not the same as domesticated pigs, as they are known to be extremely aggressive and excellent swimmers.
Users were also frustrated with the ignorance of city folk, who might be unaware that wild boars are not the same as domesticated pigs.
