Three sisters have died, believed to be from electrocution, outside a flooded home in Kampung Bendang Surau in Tumpat, Kelantan

The victims were discovered laying on the ground at about 11.45am yesterday, 19 December, reported Berita Harian.

They were identified as Nurul Syazwani Mohd Nadzir, 33, and her two younger sisters, Sakinah, 29, and Noor Fathiah, 27.

It is understood that they were wading through floodwaters when one of the siblings was electrocuted after touching a pillar of a house.

The current then struck the other two sisters when they tried to help her, killing them on the spot.

The image of the three victims lying lifeless in the water still haunts their father, 67-year-old Mohd Nadzir Mohamed

"Waking up this morning felt a bit odd because there were no more voices of my three daughters asking what they wanted to have for breakfast," Harian Metro quoted him as saying when met at his home today, 20 December.

He explained that they would usually prepare food and drinks for the family every morning.

"It really hurts to lose the three of them, Allah took all my daughters. Now, there are only five sons left, but we are at peace with His provisions."

According to New Straits Times, Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said the case was classified as sudden death after foul play was ruled out.

They were laid to rest last night at the Islamic Cemetery in Kampung Morak in a single grave.
