The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has received humanitarian help from 7-Eleven Malaysia, in conjunction with the flood rescue operations

According to Bernama, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the additional assets and rescue equipment received will help improve the quality of PDRM's services, especially in flood operations.

"The boats will be distributed to PDRM departments, with 12 units going to the General Operations Force, nine to the Federal Reserve Unit, and five to the Marine Police," he said at the handover ceremony today, 7 December.

"Meanwhile, the Special Action Unit and the 69 Kommando force will each receive two units."

Bukit Aman Department of Internal Security and Public Order director Datuk Seri Hazani Ghazali read out the speech on behalf of Acryl.

Aside from the boats and life jackets, 7-Eleven has also donated 30 boat engines and other basic necessities that will be distributed to the flood victims

The total amount of the contribution from 7-Eleven is approximately worth RM490,000.

PDRM also intends to construct a mobile kitchen as part of the post-flood initiative for the food preparation process, Hazani stated during a press conference following the handover.

"Based on past experiences, there were parties who sent food over, but the food was stale and could not be eaten by the flood victims," he said.

"If there are any mobile kitchens, we can cook on the field and distribute the food to the flood victims and personnel involved."

Aside from necessities and equipment, PDRM have also recruited personnel from other government agencies in preparation for the flash floods.

"We are ready, as there are almost 70,000 personnel from all agencies, including the police, military, and all agencies involved are ready, including the backup teams," Hazani said.
