Man Killed In Ampang Jaya After Mysterious Package Left On His Car Explodes
The 28-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
A man was killed last night, 29 December, after a mysterious package that was placed on top of his car exploded upon his inspection
The incident occurred at around 8.50pm in front of a restaurant in Pandan Indah, Ampang Jaya, reported New Straits Times.
Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the 28-year-old victim, who works as a cook, went to move the package after being told by a colleague that it was left on top of his Toyota Corolla Altis.
The package exploded when the victim touched it, causing the front of the car to catch fire.
"The explosion left the victim with serious injuries all over his body and hands," Mohamad Farouk said when contacted by New Straits Times.

He was pronounced dead at 9.45pm, and police have classified the case as murder.
So far in the investigation, some objects believed to be part of the explosive that was used near the scene have been found.
The Bomb Disposal Unit and the K-9 Dog Unit were also dispatched to the scene.
