A four-wheel drive (4WD) going against the traffic flow on the Federal Highway caused a crash and killed two people today, 12 September
In the head-on collision with a Proton Wira at about 2am Sunday, a 24-year-old male driver behind the wheel of the 4WD Mitsubishi Triton escaped unhurt, according to a report by New Straits Times.
The 4WD Mitsubishi Triton was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Klang against the flow of traffic.
The two victims were aged 18 and 19
18-year-old Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim was driving the Proton Wira, while 19-year-old Muhammad Hafiz Syamir Dzul Asri was sitting in the front passenger seat. Both of them died on the spot.
Nur Afiqah was from Klang and Muhammad Hafiz from Port Klang.
"The female driver and her male passenger were trapped in their respective front seats. It took us half an hour to extricate them and a health department medical officer who was present pronounced them dead," Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis was quoted as saying.
Both victims were taken to Hospital Shah Alam for a post-mortem.

According to a report in Bernama, Shah Alam district police chief Baharudin Mat Taib said that initial investigations found that the Mitsubishi Triton has been remanded for six days from today, 12 September.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
