Man Who Always Feeds Stray Animals Gets An Unexpected Visit From A Dog At His Workplace
Mohd Ridhuan said he did not expect the dog to 'follow' him to work.
A 22-year-old man is going viral on Twitter after he shared about an unexpected visit by a stray dog at his workplace
Mohd Ridhuan is an animal lover who always feeds stray animals.
But what he did not expect was for one of them to 'track' him down just so that the stray could see him again.
In an interview with Harian Metro, Ridhuan said he first met the dog at a beach in Pengerang, Johor.
"I always go to the beach for a walk and it is there I met the dog," he related.
According to mStar, he goes to the beach almost every day after work.
"At first, I was scared because there were a few more (dogs) there but the dogs did not act aggressively to chase or try to hurt me," he said.
"Since then, I have been brave enough to feed them."
However, due to heavy work recently, Ridhuan stopped frequenting the beach
"It has been a few days since I went there. This dog wandered until it found me working at a convenience store that is not far from where I always feed it," he told mStar.
"Since then, he has been waiting for me every evening before I return home. That is what happened to that sad scene (you saw in the video, the dog acted) as if I wanted to leave it."
He shared the encounter on Twitter along with a video that has since gone viral with almost 15,000 likes and over 8,000 retweets.
In the 52-second video, the dog appears to be upset, but Ridhuan asks it to "chin up!" He can also be seen petting the dog while wearing a pair of gloves.
Ridhuan lamented that there used to be four dogs at the beach
"However, two of them have been taken by the authorities because of public complaints, while another is roaming around the restaurants," he revealed.
"And now, only one is left, which is recorded in the video that day."
Ridhuan, who is the youngest of the seven siblings, said that since he was a child, his late mother, Rosiah Karim, had taught him to love animals.
"The practice of feeding animals has become like a daily routine for me. If I did not feed, something will feel amiss for me," he said.
"In fact, I feel happy every time I see animals eat even though the food given is not in large quantities."
While most of the comments on Ridhuan's video are positive, some netizens told him that he should not have touched the dog
Ridhuan agreed that what the netizens said is true, adding that touching dogs unnecessarily could be a punishable offence.
"But for my situation, I am already always feeding it because it is a stray dog. Anyway, I still wear gloves," the 22-year-old explained.
Elaborating further, Ridhuan said everyone should treat every animal equally regardless if they are stray animals or home pets.
"[Because] they are all God's creations, hence they deserve to be given love."
