A massive fire broke out at Pasar Borong Selangor in Seri Kembangan late last night, 23 July, with flames engulfing multiple commercial premises
According to Bernama, firefighters received an emergency call at around 11pm and immediately dispatched teams to the scene.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations division assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar confirmed the incident, saying firefighters were working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
As of 12.10am, crews were still battling the fire while trying to prevent it from reaching a surau and other nearby premises.
Firefighting efforts were reportedly hampered by strong winds, which caused the flames to spread rapidly
The operation was further complicated by gas cylinders stored inside the affected premises, raising concerns that they could explode.
Several witnesses reported hearing explosions from within the burning buildings.
The blaze was reportedly visible from 3km away, with many netizens sharing videos of the fire on social media.

The fire was brought under control at 1.20am
Berita Harian reported that at least five fire engines and more than 30 firefighters and officers were involved in the operation.
At the time of writing, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have yet to be determined. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.
