Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) has been instructed to investigate a new bullying case at a Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) in Johor

MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has also directed the school's administrators to hold an emergency disciplinary committee meeting within 24 hours.

In a social media post, Asyraf Wajdi said the directive is intended to investigate six Form 5 students suspected of bullying a junior and, if the allegations are proven true, expel them immediately.

He also said the move reflects MARA's zero-tolerance policy towards any form of physical or psychological bullying.

The bullying incident went viral after the victim's parents shared details of the ordeal on Threads

The parents said their child had wanted to transfer out of the school due to the traumatic environment.

According to Berita Harian, following a police report, six senior students were remanded for two days at the Bakri District Police Headquarters.

Asyraf Wajdi reiterated that the institutional warning remains absolute for all individuals under the agency's care

"Whatever the reason, bullying by taking matters into your own hands, supposedly to discipline junior students, is an act that cannot be accepted or compromised," he said.

He added that anyone caught violating this rule has no place in the school.

He also warned school administrators against concealing such incidents, saying strict action would be taken against any cover-ups.

MARA is currently developing awareness frameworks, emotional management modules, and training programmes to prevent psychological abuse.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
