NAAS Survey: Filipinos Are Trump’s Biggest Supporters
"It's the highest Trump favorability rating among all surveyed ethnic groups."

This survey was spearheaded by the NAAS or the National Asian American Suvey. They've released the first half of their 2016 Fall Survey of AAPI or Asian American and Pacific Islander, as reported by Asian Journal.
"Among the registered Filipino voters surveyed, a majority said that Clinton was their "presidential vote choice" at 54 percent. But a quarter of Filipinos prefer Trump for the presidency, the highest Trump favorability rating among all surveyed ethnic groups"

Among those who participated in the survey were 2238 Asian Americans and 305 Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (NHPI)
"The data analyzed came from the following ethnic groups: Asian Indian (274), Chinese (281), Filipino (201), Korean (286), Japanese (147) and Vietnamese (295), Hmong (151), Cambodian (59) and NHPIs (291)."

Why was this so? Asian Journal reported that eventhough Filipinos generally support progressive issues, they were the ethnic group with the highest opposition rates to these issues.
Issues Filipinos compired the highest opposition ratings include: Syrian refugee acceptance into the US (41%), climate change initiatives (18%) and equal rights for black Americans (22%).
The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been dubbed as the "Donald Trump of Asia" by numerous foreign media
But TIME magazine said that those who have called Duterte the "Donald Trump of Asia" were wrong
