NGOs Offer Free Bus Rides To Voters In Puchong To Go Back To Their Hometowns For #GE15
The buses will depart from Dewan Masyarakat BK2 in Puchong on Friday, 18 November, at 8pm.
A group of civil societies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have organised a free bus service for Klang Valley voters to travel back to their hometowns for the 15th General Election (GE15)
According to a statement by Kuala Lumpur And Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), the effort is jointly organised by KLSCAH Civil Rights Committee, Sayangi Kinrara, and SKLHA Youth.
The free buses will depart from Dewan Masyarakat BK2 in Puchong, which is located near Kinrara BK5 LRT station on Friday, 18 November, at 8pm, and return late on polling day, 19 November, at about 6pm from respective cities.
The buses will travel to several locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia including Johor, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
The service is open to all voters, and registrations are open from now until 16 November
Bus seats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis depending on availability.
The group will notify all successful applicants through WhatsApp and applicants must show the WhatsApp message as identification on the day of departure.
The organisation said their main purpose is to provide transportation convenience to the voters, stressing that they won't interfere with applicant's voting preferences
"Due to unforeseen circumstances like traffic jams during the travel, we recommend all passengers to be on time at the departure point. In addition, we won't entertain any latecomers," the organisers said in the statement.
Their hope in initiating this service is to encourage more people to return home and vote.
