Nurse In JB Caught Using Her Phone While Attending To Patient With Breathing Difficulties

A video showing a nurse using a mobile phone while attending to a patient with breathing problems has gone viral on social media, prompting action from the authorities
The 25-second long video shows the nurse engaging nonchalantly with her mobile phone while providing breathing assistance to a patient. The clip was discreetly recorded by another patient, Sinar Harian reported.
According to New Straits Times (NST), the incident took place in Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA), Johor Bahru.
Johor Health Department (JKN) director Dr Selahuddeen Abd Aziz has met with the patient's family to get a detailed account and information on the matter
"A committee comprising specialists and nursing supervisor from HSA and JKN has started the investigations," he said in a statement posted on JKN Johor Facebook account yesterday, 31 May.
He noted that both HSA and JKN had specific standard operating procedures (SOP) on handling patients with respiratory difficulties and it is a requirement for all staff to follow them strictly.
